The answer to your question for the most part is no. We
have been able in the past to have a customer's order shelled
at an area pecan sheller. The main problem we run into with
shelled pecans is the deterioration of the pecans. Our
area has only one sheller, who becomes as much as three
months backlogged with custom shelling. We find it
impractical to tie up our pecans for that length of time
awaiting the shelling process when we can easily find plenty
of folks wanting to purchase whole pecans.
